Constitution: 1. Government Censorship: 0.

The Obama administrations reaction to the Supreme Courts ruling on our current unconstitutional campaign finance laws was typical of top-down, big government bullies …

“With its ruling today, the Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics … It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.”

I am instructing my administration to get to work immediately with Congress on this issue. We are going to talk with bipartisan Congressional leaders to develop a forceful response to this decision. The public interest requires nothing less.”

And this guy calls himself a Constitutional scholar?

Memo to President Obama: The “public interest” will not be served by denying free speech to anyone, whether they’re a private citizen or a corporation!

But the President isn’t the only lefty that interprets the Constitution according to his ideological convenience.

Democracy 21 President Fred Wertheimer called the ruling a “disaster for the American people and a very dark day for the Supreme Court.”

“Today’s decision is the most radical and destructive campaign finance decision in Supreme Court history … The decision will unleash unprecedented amounts of corporate ‘influence-seeking’ money on our elections and create unprecedented opportunities for corporate ‘influence-buying’ corruption.”

As if we don’t have plenty of corruption ala George Soros, MoveOn, SEIU, and ACORN already?

As if back-room deals for big Pharma or the “Louisiana Purchase” or Ben Nelson’s special Medicare payoffs to buy votes for the health care bill aren’t corruption?

The idea that Wal-Mart will elect our politicians for us is absurd: Wal-Mart can’t fit in a voting booth.

The internet, bloggers, email, and the diverse array of news sources available to the average citizen – like this blog – serve to counter-balance any attempt to dominate political discourse in this country by “evil corporations”.

Finally, it’s instructive to note that it’s become standard operating procedure for the President to exempt unions and corrupt community organizations like ACORN in his attacks on free speech, while targeting business, free enterprise, and the Capitalist System with intellectually dishonest, Alinsky-inspired populist rhetoric.

Stay tuned on this issue. The resurgence of “The Fairness Doctrine” will gain steam from the censorship-crazed left as they attempt to get around this ruling.

Be ready to tell your representatives you want them to follow and defend the Constitution!
